**URGENT OPEING FOR MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER (MSW)**

- **Location**: ( Nellikuppam, Panruti, Saathipattu, Vandipalayam, Patchiankuppam, Kullanchavadi, Kandarakottai, Pudukuppam and Silambinatahanpettai) We have one opening in each location.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Medical social work involves counseling in patients and their families, arranging medical and social services and finding the necessary resources to help patients.
- You may have an office base but will spend much of your time out and about in the community, visiting local people and groups and attending meetings.
- You'll have frequent contact with individuals, agencies and groups in the community. Therefore, travel within a working day is to be expected. Absence from home overnight is unlikely but may be required on occasion. Overseas work may be possible with a development charity.
- Medical social workers provide psychological support to both the patient and their families and may offer guidance in dealing with any resulting social complications.
- Participates in planning and implementing quality improvement activities.
- Provides positive customer relations in dealing with patients, families, physicians, fellow department employees, other hospital departments, referral resources, service agencies, and others.
- Adheres to department/hospital policies.
- Reviewing new admissions for any special needs or issues that need to be addressed
- Coordinating the care of patients with complex needs that require multiple services over time Handling crisis that come up unexpectedly with counseling or therapy
- Helping patients understand financial and emotional resources available to them
- **Required Skills/Abilities**:_
- Physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities sufficient to perform essential functions.
- Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
- May be exposed to patients with infectious diseases.
