Position Title: Production Planning Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- **Strategic Planning**: Develop and implement production plans in alignment with company objectives, considering factors such as demand forecasts, production capacities, and resource availability.
- **Production Scheduling**: Create detailed production schedules based on order requirements, machine capacities, and workforce availability. Ensure optimal sequencing of jobs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods to prevent stockouts or overages. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain adequate inventory levels while minimizing holding costs.
- **Resource Allocation**: Allocate resources including manpower, equipment, and materials effectively to achieve production targets within budgetary constraints. Optimize resource utilization to improve productivity and reduce wastage.
- **Quality Assurance**: Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain quality standards throughout the production process. Implement measures to identify and rectify quality issues in a timely manner to meet customer expectations.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement. Implement Lean manufacturing principles and best practices to streamline workflows and eliminate bottlenecks.
- **Communication and Coordination**: Foster effective communication and collaboration among various departments including production, procurement, sales, and customer service. Coordinate closely with sales teams to ensure timely delivery of orders and manage customer expectations.
- **Performance Monitoring**: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, cycle times, and resource utilization. Analyze data to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement. Prepare regular reports for management review.
- **Compliance and Safety**: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Implement measures to promote a safe working environment and minimize risks to personnel and equipment.
- **Team Leadership**: Provide leadership and guidance to the production planning team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning to drive performance excellence.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in têxtile engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, and operations management within the têxtile printing and processing industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop teams to achieve performance targets.
