Purpose of Role
- Curriculum Delivery: Implementing and delivering a comprehensive mathematics curriculum that meets educational standards and fosters students' mathematical understanding.
- Student Engagement: Creating engaging and interactive lesson plans to inspire a love for math and encourage active participation among students.
- Differentiated Instruction: Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, ensuring all learners can succeed.
- Assessment and Feedback: Assessing students’ progress through formal and informal evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and using assessment data to inform instruction.
- Foundational Skills Development: Helping students build essential math skills and concepts that serve as the foundation for future mathematical learning and problem-solving.
- Classroom Management: Establishing and maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment conducive to learning and collaboration.
- Collaboration: Working collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student learning and development.
- Professional Development: Engaging in ongoing professional growth to stay informed about best practices in math education and integrating new teaching strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Mathematics lessons for Primary school students as per the Cambridge syllabus.
- Use experiments, practical demonstrations, and visual aids to enhance learning.
- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned with Cambridge standards.
- Monitor and evaluate students' performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents about students' progress and challenges.
- Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development programs.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Education (B.Ed. preferred).
- Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum and teaching practices.
- Previous experience in teaching Mathematics to Primary school students.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring young learners in the field of Mathematics.
