The Grader Operator is responsible for operating a motor grader to smooth and level surfaces, ensuring accurate grading for road construction, maintenance, or earth-moving operations. This role involves ensuring the equipment is well-maintained, following safety standards, and working closely with a team to complete projects efficiently.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Operate Grading Equipment**: Operate a motor grader to level or smooth surfaces, including roads, highways, construction sites, and landfills.
- **Surface Preparation**: Prepare surfaces for paving, laying asphalt, or other construction processes by ensuring surfaces are even and have proper drainage.
- **Material Management**: Ensure the grading is performed to the correct specifications by controlling the amount of material used and moved.
- **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to safety standards and procedures while operating the equipment. This includes wearing safety gear and maintaining a safe work environment.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of the grader, including checking oil, hydraulics, and tires, and reporting issues to supervisors.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with other construction workers, such as surveyors and site supervisors, to ensure grading specifications are met.
- **Adjust Settings**: Adjust grader settings (blade height, tilt, and angle) to ensure proper surface grading and smoothness.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain records of work performed, including equipment hours, maintenance performed, and materials moved.
- **Traffic Control**: Manage traffic control around work areas and communicate with flaggers or other personnel to ensure safe working conditions.
- **Weather Monitoring**: Monitor weather conditions and adapt operations based on conditions, such as wet or dry soil, which can affect grading effectiveness.
**Qualifications**:
- **Experience**: Previous experience operating heavy equipment, especially motor graders, in construction or road maintenance is preferred.
- **Skills**:
- Strong knowledge of grading equipment and construction techniques.
- Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to operate machinery safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills to adjust grading techniques based on site conditions.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings (if required).
- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; certification or training in heavy equipment operation is often preferred.
- **Physical Requirements**: Ability to work in outdoor conditions, lift heavy materials, and stand for long periods.
- **Licenses**: A valid driver’s license is usually required, and specific certifications may be required depending on the employer or location.
**Working Conditions**:
- Work is typically performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Worksites can be noisy, dusty, or hazardous, requiring proper protective equipment.
- May require working in remote locations or traveling to various sites.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
