**Job Title**: Apparel Merchandiser - Sales & Client Development
**Location**: Delhi preferred (travel required)
**Salary**: ₹35,000-₹45,000 per month (plus incentives on sales/deals closed)

Mayborn is a growing Indian fashion label focused on thoughtfully designed **co-ord sets** across **ethnic and westernwear** categories. Rooted in modest aesthetics and fresh silhouettes, we aim to make functional fashion accessible while upholding distinct identity and cultural relevance.
We are currently expanding our presence across offline and online channels and are looking for a dynamic **Apparel Merchandiser** who can represent the brand, **build B2B and wholesale relationships**, and actively drive customer acquisition through travel and outreach.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Sales & Client Acquisition**
- Identify and approach **multi-brand outlets (MBOs)**, **boutiques**, **department stores**, and **retail distributors** across cities
- Schedule and conduct **sales meetings**, **product presentations**, and **line showings** with prospective retail partners
- Build strong working relationships with fashion buyers, retailers, and distributors
- Attend trade fairs, exhibitions, and fashion events to generate business leads and represent the brand
- Understand client needs and tailor product selections accordingly
- Maintain and grow a database of potential buyers, stockists, and institutional clients
**Product Merchandising & Positioning**
- Curate and pitch collections based on the retailer’s target market, geography, and customer preferences
- Plan seasonal drops in sync with buyer schedules and fashion calendars
- Advise on pricing, pack ratios, and display ideas for maximum sell-through
- Monitor stock performance at client outlets and make reorder suggestions
**Sampling & Coordination**
- Coordinate with the design and production teams to ensure timely sampling for buyers
- Ensure merchandising samples and lookbooks are up to date for client presentations
- Gather feedback from the market and share with the team for future product refinement
**Sales Reporting & Documentation**
- Maintain records of meetings, follow-ups, deals closed, and sales performance
- Prepare sales reports and projections based on regional or store-wise data
- Handle purchase orders, payment follow-ups, and coordination between retail clients and internal teams
**Travel Requirement**
- Regular travel (intercity or regional) is a key part of this role — sometimes at short notice
- Travel expenses will be covered as per company policy
- The role may require attending buyers’ meetings, fashion exhibitions, and physical store visits
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Production, Business, or similar
- 2-4 years of experience in apparel merchandising, B2B sales, or retail buyer relationships
- Strong understanding of ethnic and westernwear fashion in the Indian market
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Proactive, confident, and well-versed in market outreach and on-ground pitching
- Ability to understand product lines and recommend merchandising strategies
- Familiarity with POS systems, Excel, and CRM tools is a plus
- Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
