Because many patients are referred to us with complicated symptoms, the neurologist who succeeds in this role will be an expert puzzle-solver and highly skilled at evaluating symptoms, medical history, and test results to reach an accurate diagnosis — the first and most important step toward effective treatment.

**Job brief**

We are looking for a Neurologist to join our team and use their expert anatomy, physiology, and central nervous system knowledge to help our patients receive the best health care possible at our organization. A Neurologist’s responsibilities include diagnosing and treating disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system. This requires a Neurologist to order tests and evaluate results to provide proper care to their patients.

Ultimately, you will work with a team of other Doctors to understand patient needs and provide the right treatment within a high-stress environment.

**Objectives of this role**

Deliver a high standard of medical care by listening carefully to patients' concerns and conducting a thorough assessment of their health.

Customize a care plan for each patient by assembling and collaborating with an integrated, interdisciplinary team of medical professionals who will provide that care.

Foster improvements and enhancements in the practice of neurology for patients who have disorders of the nervous system.

Educate and mentor through our programs for medical students, residents, and fellows, and participate in continuing education courses for practicing medical professionals.

**Responsibilities**

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat neurological disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems, including stroke, dementia, seizure, and Parkinson’s disease.

Order and analyze tests such as electroencephalogram (EEG), computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

Share findings with medical team, and communicate treatment options internally and with patients, family members, and caregivers.

Monitor and track patient progress, adjusting treatment plans and medications and weighing referrals when necessary.

Respond quickly to emergent situations, such as stroke or epileptic seizure, that require immediate evaluation and treatment.

**Required skills and qualifications.**

Doctor of Medicine degree

Residency recognized by an official body such as ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education)

License to practice medicine in a hospital location.

Certification in neurology from a relevant board, such as ABPN (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology)

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred skills and qualifications

One to three years of experience in a clinical setting

Ability to communicate in more than one language.
