Physics Graduate Teaching Assistant

Overview:
We are seeking a Physics Graduate Teaching Assistant (PGT) to join our dynamic faculty team. The PGT will work closely with faculty members to assist in the delivery of undergraduate physics courses and laboratory sessions. This position offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates or postgraduates in physics to gain valuable teaching experience while contributing to the academic success of students.

**Responsibilities**:

- Classroom Assistance: Assist faculty members during lectures by providing support to students, answering questions, and facilitating discussions.
- Laboratory Support: Aid in the setup, organization, and supervision of laboratory experiments. Assist students in understanding experimental procedures, data collection, and analysis.
- Grading and Evaluation: Assist in grading assignments, quizzes, and examinations. Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their understanding of physics concepts.
- Tutoring and Office Hours: Hold regular office hours to provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions for students seeking additional assistance with course materials.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with faculty members to develop instructional materials, assignments, and laboratory exercises. Contribute ideas for enhancing the effectiveness of course content and delivery.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties such as record-keeping, attendance tracking, and organizing course materials.

Qualifications:

- Educational Background: Master's degree in Physics or a related field. Current enrollment in a graduate program in physics is preferred.
- Teaching Experience: Previous experience as a teaching assistant or tutor in physics or a related discipline is advantageous.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively assisting students and collaborating with faculty members.
- Knowledge of Physics Concepts: Solid understanding of fundamental physics concepts and principles. Familiarity with advanced topics in physics is desirable.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced academic environment.
- Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with faculty members, fellow teaching assistants, and students to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
