Special Educator

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Assessment and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)**:

- Conduct assessments to identify students' learning needs, strengths, and areas for growth.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific requirements, ensuring goals are measurable and achievable.
- Regularly review and update IEPs in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals to track progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- **Instructional Support**:

- Provide direct instructional support to students with learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, or other special needs.
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials and teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
- Use specialized techniques, such as visual aids, hands-on activities, and assistive technology, to support student learning.
- **Classroom Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure the integration of students with special needs in the regular classroom environment where appropriate.
- Provide advice and support to teachers on effective classroom strategies and accommodations for students with special educational needs.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss students’ progress and to coordinate appropriate support services.
- **Behavioral and Emotional Support**:

- Implement behavior management strategies and provide social-emotional support to students, helping them develop self-regulation and coping skills.
- Work closely with students to promote positive behavior, social skills, and independent functioning.
- Support students in developing life skills, self-confidence, and resilience, and address any emotional or behavioral challenges that may affect their learning.
- **Progress Monitoring and Reporting**:

- Continuously monitor and document students' progress against IEP goals and academic standards.
- Prepare reports on students' academic and developmental progress for parents and school staff.
- Regularly communicate with parents and caregivers, providing updates on student achievements and areas of concern, and offering strategies for supporting students at home.
- **Parent and Team Collaboration**:

- Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers, offering guidance, resources, and support for home-based learning.
- Work collaboratively with other specialists, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors, to ensure a holistic approach to the student’s development.
- Participate in regular meetings with the multidisciplinary team to assess and discuss student progress and needs.
- **Professional Development**:

- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and relevant legal requirements.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and seminars related to special education and inclusive teaching methods.
- Stay informed about new teaching strategies, technologies, and resources that can support students with special needs.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Learning Disabilities, or a related field. Additional certifications in special education or relevant teaching credentials are preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children with special needs, including experience in developing and implementing IEPs and providing direct instructional support.
- **Skills**:

- Strong understanding of a variety of learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, and developmental delays.
- Ability to create individualized learning strategies and adapt curriculum materials effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with students, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students with special needs succeed.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and other tools that support learning for students with disabilities.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple students' needs and progress tracking.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
