Greater Chennai Police

Project Overview:
Women and Children constantly fear and experience various crimes in public spaces. When an act of violence occurs, on the streets, in public transportation, workplaces, educational institution, parks and entertainment centers, the victim, at some point, reaches out to the police for assistance or intervention. With demographic and societal changes along with technological innovations, new and varied types of crimes are emerging every day.

While adopting to the new demands, the Greater Chennai Police (GCP) is gearing up to create a safe city and keep its citizens safe by implementing new and innovative strategies including advanced technology. This rapidly changing nature of policing and the challenge to respond brings in the need for an informed, responsive and sensitive workforce, as essential levers of an effective police force broadening its scope to crime prevention. Crimes against women and children is now recognized by government, non-government bodies and the civil society as a critical public concern. Identifying, referring and supporting victims requires multidisciplinary and coordinated community response.

GCP is planning to implement these capacity building initiatives by selecting a Systems Integrator (SI) via competitive bidding and selection process. The project scope involves conducting education & citizen awareness programs for ‘feel safe’ city spaces, strengthening police response to victims of violence against women and children, self defense training to women & children especially vulnerable sections of the society, etc. This project envisages a 360-degree approach towards women safety and have conceived the following 3 tracks, viz.

1. Track # 1 : Safer Communities - Transformation through Engagement

2. Track # 2 : Police Force - Seasoning

3. Track # 3 : Self Defense Training for Women & Children
- Creating and editing original copy that is accurate, well-researched, and meets client/company needs and deadlines.
- Speaking with internal and external parties to learn about their content needs.
- Conducting research to formulate ideas or support writing.
- Learning about the target audience for copy.
- Assisting in other aspects of the creative or research processes to create cohesive, accurate content.
- Collaborate with designers, PR and other professionals on large
- Edit and proofread copy as needed
- Use SEO/SMO principles to maximise copy’s reach
- Source images and other content

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Any Degree related English and Tamil Language.
- 1-2 years of experience.

**Technical Skills**
- Knowledge of online content strategy and creation
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Knowledge in SEO and SMO
- Well equipped in creating Newsletter and Magazine
- Microsoft Office tools
