- LEPRA Society is a pan-India health and development organization working for the people affected by Leprosy and other neglected diseases to transform their lives and overcome poverty, discrimination and disability. LEPRA endeavors to diagnose, facilitate treatment to those affected and help them to rehabilitate into the mainstream of the society. LEPRA works in collaborations with the Government and other funding agencies to reach into most inaccessible villages of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh states.
- The LEPRA -Swabhiman -2.0 project is working in the Koraput, Nabarangpur, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nuapada & Bargarh districts in close collaboration with district NLEP Unit. LEPRA is successfully implementing the project since 1991 in this region. The project will contribute to the overall objective of the organization by Active case finding, Disability care, develop linkages for Social security schemes & entitlements and prevention of disabilities there by reducing transmission and promoting wellbeing of people affected by leprosy in 18 Blocks of 6 district in Odisha state. Women & children would be a priority in all activities.
**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Physio Therapist**
As a Physio-Therapist, she will plan and implement strategy for POD/POWD for disability problems to meet agreed/Performance plans with in agreed budgets by utilizing, analyzing the data in the project
Ed**ucation and experience**
- Should be minimum +2 (Intermediate) and 9 months Leprosy Physiotherapy technician or BPT Course from a recognized institute.
- Should have minimum one year relevant experience /Fresher also can apply.
**Roles and responsibilities**
**1.Assessment of POD/POWD Needs**:
- Assess the nerve function of Leprosy at disability/Screening Camp/DPMR Clinic. Home visits for the cases referred by community health staff to preserve the nerve function, vision by providing adoptive devices, training in self-care practices to patients, Family and communities.
**2.Physical Rehabilitation of Leprosy Patients**:
- Identify the disabled cases suitable for reconstructive surgery and put them on pre-operative physiotherapy and post-operative reeducation, so that he or she restores functional ability. Keep a complete record of each case.
**3.Support and Guidance**:
- Support/Guide the District NLEP Staff, Field Coordinators and PHC/CHCs Staff in detecting early nerve impairment/Neuritis and managing them in time. On job training to the field staff during visit and develop the technical capacities so as to reduce the disability in under treatment and RFT Case
**4.Foot wear management**:
- Provide footwear to all anesthetic foot cases by collecting G-1 foot measurement form from field staff, Taking G-II Foot measurement in person and ensure supply of materials to shoe technician, Monitor the quality of production at Shoe unit and issue the footwear to all needy patients in time. Take feedback form periodically to improve/Check/assess the quality to supply.
**5.Maintence and safeguard of Assets**:
- Ensure periodical servicing, Insurance, renewals and maintence of equipment’s like Wax bath, Muscle stimulator, Infra-red lamp, grinding motor, sewing machine in working condition.
**6. Reporting**
- Report to Project Officer Swabhiman-2.0
- Provide data/ information required for preparation of reports.
- Maintain records on referrals to other services, follow up register, referral cards, patients cards if required and follow up or any other documents as required.
**Remuneration: Rs.21000 /- Per month (All inclusive)**
