Machine Operator for Biodegradable Blow Film Plant

Detailed Responsibilities: ○ Machine Mastery: This goes beyond simply turning the machine on and off. They need to understand the intricacies of the biodegradable bag making machine - how to adjust settings for different bag sizes, thicknesses, and material types. They'll need to fine-tune the machine for optimal speed and efficiency, minimizing waste and maximizing output. ○ Setup & Calibration: Before starting a production run, the operator meticulously sets up the machine. This includes: ■ Feeding the Machine: Loading the biodegradable film rolls onto the machine and threading them correctly through the various rollers and guides. ■ Setting Bag Dimensions: Precisely adjusting the machine to produce bags of the required length, width, and gusset (if applicable). ■ Sealing and Cutting: Ensuring the machine's heat sealing and cutting mechanisms are functioning correctly for strong, clean seals and precise cuts. ○ Quality Control Vigilance: They are the first line of defense against defects. This involves: ■ Visual Inspection: Regularly examining the produced bags for any inconsistencies - variations in size, sealing defects, holes, or imperfections in the film. ■ Machine Adjustments: If defects are spotted, they need to diagnose the problem and make the necessary adjustments to the machine to rectify the issue. ■ Sample Testing: Periodically testing the bags for strength, durability, and biodegradability to ensure they meet quality standards. ○ Maintenance Maestro: ■ Daily Maintenance: Performing routine cleaning and lubrication of machine parts to prevent wear and tear and ensure smooth operation. ■ Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving minor mechanical issues like jammed film, sensor malfunctions, or unusual noises. This might involve replacing worn-out parts or making minor repairs. ■ Preventative Maintenance: Following a schedule of preventative maintenance tasks (cleaning, inspections, part replacements) to minimize downtime and extend the machine's lifespan. ○ Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed production logs, recording information like: ■ Production output (number of bags produced) ■ Machine downtime and reasons for stoppages ■ Raw material usage ■ Quality control checks and any defects found ○ Safety Champion: Strictly adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents, including: ■ Wearing appropriate PPE (gloves, safety glasses, ear protection) ■ Following lockout/tagout procedures when performing maintenance ■ Keeping the work area clean and free of hazards ○ Physical Demands: ■ Lifting: Lifting and loading rolls of biodegradable film (which can be heavy) onto the machine. ■ Standing: Standing for extended periods while operating the machine. ■ Movement: Moving around the machine to monitor different parts of the production process, clear jams, and perform adjustments. ■ Dexterity: Using hands and fingers to make precise adjustments, thread film, and handle small parts.
