- Responsive design: With the increasing use of mobile devices, it's important for a web designer to have experience creating websites that are responsive and adapt to different screen sizes.
- JavaScript and jQuery: A working knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery is important for adding dynamic elements and interactivity to a website.
- Cross-browser compatibility: A web designer should be able to design websites that look and function correctly on a variety of browsers and devices.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO): A web designer should have a basic understanding of SEO principles and how to optimize a website for search engines.
- Content Management Systems (CMS): Many websites are built using a CMS such as WordPress, and a web designer should be familiar with at least one popular CMS.
- Project management: A web designer should be able to manage their own time and workload, and work effectively with clients and team members.
- Communication skills: Good communication skills are essential for a web designer to be able to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
