**Purpose of the Role**

1. Responsible to execute activities in assembly function to ensure on time delivery of Defect free products, Spares and services

2. Work towards continual improvement on Quality, Delivery and Cost

3. Improve responsiveness to customer needs

4. Maintain quality standards and requirements in activities and output produced from assembly

5. Ensure efficient man power management and skill development

**Responsibilities & Accountabilities**
- Responsible for execution of the assembly manpower and processes plan and schedule and ensuring that all products, spares and services are delivered on time and meet quality standards before being shipped to customers
- Ensure continual improvement on Quality, Delivery and Cost
- Continuously improve processes in Assembly function to reduce cost of production and imbibe a culture of cost consciousness in the organisation
- Responsible for maintaining COPQ(Cost of Poor Quality) from assembly processes within the acceptable target limits
- Improve responsiveness to customer needs
- Support the resolution of customer concerns, Identify and eliminate root cause using various methods
- Ensure Customer complaint Analysis and resolution and Solving of key critical complaints using QC story methodology
- Ensure amendments that arise due to internal and external customer requirements are met accurately
- Ensure internal delivery processes are aligned to customer requirement to fulfil on time delivery
- Plan for Delivery Achievement and make correction for Constraints
- Manpower Deployment for Daily Work plan, ensuring right skill in the right place
- Ensure Availability of Resources, Tools, Measuring Equipment's and System in the work area
- Ensure facility requirement for maintaining quality standards in Assembly process
- Ensure that key performance indicators are monitored and targets achieved
- Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operation to ensure effective utilisation of all resources
- Develop safe and efficient work place through out the assembly process
- Ensure the proper stacking and dispatch of finished goods
- Assembly process improvement through PFMEA
- Ensure proper work allocation to achieve the DRO as per plan
- Ensure availability of material and resources in respective areas to achieve DRO as per plan
- Achieve cycle time reduction in assembly process by Identifying NVA and implementing the proposed actions
- Implementation of TQM initiatives and ensure system adherence thro periodical audit
- Review and standardize the work instructions for all the assembly process
- Identify and implement process controls to eliminate customer complaints & evaluate the effectiveness of CA/PA
- Ensure 100% adherence of the in line self inspection
- Ensure on time availability of facilities required for NPD assembly process
- Initiate and implement actions for the assembly related QP points identified during NPD assembly
- Manufacturing/Procurement of facilities for improvements i.e. Press, Fixture, trolley, Scissor lift, tools
- Create Acceptance criteria and testing methods for New products
- Ensure that key performance indicators are monitored and targets achieved
- Review and Maintain records for ISO and TQM Activities
- Create Skill matrix for Sub ordinates and evaluate skill requirements
- Arrive internal and External training plan for skill development
- Establish and track accountabilities and work plan for all roles in assembly area
- Track suitable targets and KPIs for the team to ensure effective performance and delivery
- Ensure adherence to Business Excellence processes in all activities related to the assembly department, through training, practicing, audits and corrective actions
- Oversee the workflow and work assignments of the team to ensure effective collaboration among teams, team members and consistent, quality work
- Drive the amends in the SOP/work instructions for modified/improved processes.
- Execute continual assembly process improvement thru LEAN manufacturing techniques
- Coordinate with the Assembly IE team to identify use cases and drive automation / process improvement initiatives within the assembly function
- Drive Improvement projects in the area of Quality, cost and Delivery
- Ensure updation and use of the latest technologies and tools for all activities within assembly department
- Facilitate continuous learning and skilling across the department on essential functional and behavioural competencies
- Mentoring and managing a team of professionals to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Build a robust succession pipeline for the critical roles within the department in coordination with HR
