**NOTICE**
Application are invited for 01 post of Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor) in
Mathematics/Statistics to teach Under Graduate minor course under NEP as per allotment for the
semester started from January, 2025 to be filled through prescribed form. The interview will be held
on 03.03.2025 at 10:00 a.m. onwards in the Seminar room, Department of Economics, Panjab
University, Chandigarh. The working hours as per the following tentative schedule are:

Monday to Friday U.G. & P.G. Economics with specialization in
Mathematics/Statistics
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
All the applicants are advised to bring their original certificates and other relevant documents
for verification along with the duly filled form giving the details at the time of interview. The
The above assignment will be on lecture basis with a token honorarium of Rs. 1500/- per

are teaching in Department of Economics, Panjab University, Chandigarh as a Guest Faculty.
**Minimum qualification for the post of Assistant Professor as per UGC norms (link given**
**below)**:
**Essential Qualifications as per clause 4.4.1 of UGC Regulations-2010**:
i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least
55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Physically and Visually Handicapped) or an
equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed at the
equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC; CSIR or
iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause
accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards
and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or the
subsequent Regulations if notified by the UGC, shall be exempted from the
requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for
recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions
in Universities /Colleges / Institutions.
**Subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions: -**
**(b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;**
**one in a refereed journal from out of his/her Ph.D. work;**
**from out of his/her Ph.D. work;**
**(a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice Chancellor/Pro-Vice-**
**Chancellor/ Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University Instructions)”**
iv. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes
in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted
**Desirable Qualification**:
Ability to handle Minor Mathematics/Statistics under NEP.
**How to Apply**:
**27th February, 2025 for the post of one (01) Guest faculty in Mathematics/Statistics in**
**the Department of Economics, Panjab University, Chandigarh.**
with copies of two set of attested certificate and other supporting documents to
the office of the Chairperson, Department of Economics, Panjab University,
be considered and will stand rejected.**
ii. **No separate interview letter shall be sent**.
iii. All applicants are advised to report at 9:30 a.m. and bring their original
certificates and other relevant documents for verification at the same time for
the interview.
**No TA/DA will be paid for the same.**
