As a Lab/Scientific Assistant for Plaksha University, you will play a pivotal role in Water Technology Lab. The Water Technology Research (WaTeR) Lab, which is the primary lab of the Center for Water Security (CWS) at Plaksha University, has ongoing projects on monitoring water quality, advanced treatment technologies and resource recovery from wastewater. CWS is a transdisciplinary research centre aiming to develop affordable and scalable solutions to specific water challenges in India. In this role, you will get the experience of managing an advanced laboratory by facilitating the research of its users; further, you will also work in collaboration with other relevant laboratories in the university. At the same time, you will also be able to participate and contribute towards the research, leading to impactful demonstrations and publications.

The overall responsibility is to support WaTeR Lab research activities as per the agreed plan with the Centre Director. This will include
- Setting up and maintenance of the lab equipment (e.g., ensuring they are regularly calibrated, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the equipment are available and updated, ensuring safety protocols, liaising with the suppliers for spares/repairs/maintenance contracts)
- Analysis of water and wastewater samples for various parameters and maintaining the SOPs for the analytical procedures
- Maintaining the inventory of lab consumables and support in procurement
- Facilitating the work of researchers/students/interns working in the lab (e.g. overseeing safety protocols, help in setting up experiments, support in analysis)
- Any other support in CWS that may be required from time to time (e.g. support in the coordination of activities such as lab visits, workshops, creation of content related to lab activities etc.)

Experience and Education
- M. Sc. in Chemistry/ Environmental Science/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ other relevant disciplines.
- It is desirable to have prior experience (of at least 2 years) in a lab with water and wastewater sample analysis.
