**Job Description**:
Install, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL & MySQL software, implement monitoring and alerting,
implement backup and recovery processes, provide system and SQL performance tuning and assist
in business process integration with various data sources.

Roles and Responsibilities

1.Experience with PostgreSql 9.3 and Oracle 10g/11g/12c OEM.

2. Oracle RDBMS installation, configuration and maintenance activities on latest versions (10g, 11g, 12c on different platforms).

3. Hands on experience on PostgreSQL setup and HA(High availability) is perferable.

4. In depth knowledge of Data Guard etc.

5. Understanding of Oracle's Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA).

6. Develop and implementing best practices for DR and Backups

7. Defining and implementing maintenance plan for the database systems

8. Good performance tuning skills.(posgtres and oracle)

9. Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues.

10. Hands-on experience on database administration, backup recovery and troubleshooting

11. Good knowledge on UNIX, Linux

12. Integration of DB monitoring and escalation into existing IT monitoring and actionable events solutions as per ITIL process.

13. Good in Database upgrade and Migration activity

14. Verify all instances are up & working

15. Look into new alert log entries and checking for any errors

16. Check table space usage

17. Checking if there is enough disk space for the data files and archive filesystem to grow

18. Monitoring temporary segments usage

19. Checking session locks and resolve the issue.

20. Monitoring overall Database health & performance tuning.

21. Restore and recoveries

22. Data guard setup and Maintenance/Troubleshooting activity
