As part of the QA and Operational Rigour Leadership team, the role will have 2 prime elements:
Lead the growing QA team based across both Chennai and Noida Operations centres. This team will provide a QA service for AML processes predominantly for sanctions screening. You will work closely with the QA Team Leader and QA Analysts, overseeing the workflow of the QA sampling and testing processes across all relevant functions. You will ensure transparency of quality rates, trends, and root causes of issues, driving improvements to the quality of the overall function through root cause analysis and quality recommendations to improve operational performance. You will perform a critical role in helping us embed an enhanced, risk focused QA model; and support in the shaping and delivery of strategic objectives to help achieve a sustainable QA function. The role requires the ability to process a wide range of information pertaining to financial crime risk management and work closely with other QA functions as part of GFCO and WCOB globally.

The role will also lead the newly established Operational Rigour team in Chennai as part of the global Operational Rigour function supporting WCOB and GFCO. The WCOB and GFCO Rigour Team are responsible for ensuring the appropriate Controls, Governance, Reporting and Oversight are in place to support the Operational functions. The role holder will support the Operational Rigour Head leading the provision of Risk & Control MI and Reporting, including KRI’s, as well as ensuring all governance frameworks are operating effectively. The role holder will act as a point of reference for queries relating to Operations wide internal control framework and as Manager/Co-ordinator on Operations-wide control initiatives/projects as required. The role holder will use key insights from Rigour and CCO testing, reviews and control assessments to build intelligence and insightful MI & Reporting that can be used to influence and focus strategic objectives including Transformation activity.

What will you be doing?

You’ll play a key role supporting Barclays in meeting its business, legal, regulatory and stakeholder obligations in respect of Financial Crime (FC) Compliance. You will play an integral part in the development and execution of team plans. Specific duties will include:

- Directly/Indirectly manage Quality Assurance & Operational Rigour Analysts and AVPs.
- Oversee the quality assurance of Financial Crime processes
- Manage all active queues in relation to capacity, ensuring transparency of reporting, and escalations
- Identify trends, analyse root cause issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions - short and long term - both for QA and wider Operational Rigour Risk & Control MI & Reporting.
