**Job Description**:
Key role requirements for this position:
1. **Teaching and Curriculum Development**:
- **Educational Delivery**: Teach pharmacology courses to medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals, covering drug mechanisms, therapeutic uses, and side effects.
- **Curriculum Design**: Develop and update course materials, including lectures, lab exercises, and assessments, to ensure a comprehensive and current pharmacology education.
2. **Research and Scholarly Activity**:
- **Research Initiatives**: Conduct original research in pharmacology, focusing on areas such as drug development, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, or clinical pharmacology.
- **Publication and Presentation**: Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic and professional conferences to contribute to the field’s knowledge base.
3. **Mentorship and Supervision**:
- **Guidance**: Mentor students, residents, and junior faculty in their research projects and academic development, offering support and advice on career progression.
- **Supervision**: Oversee research projects conducted by trainees and ensure adherence to ethical and scientific standards.
4. **Clinical Integration and Consultation**:
- **Clinical Collaboration**: Work with clinical faculty to integrate pharmacological knowledge into patient care and support evidence-based prescribing practices.
- **Consultation**: Provide expertise on drug interactions, adverse effects, and optimal drug therapy in complex cases, collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
5. **Administrative and Service Responsibilities**:
- **Departmental Participation**: Engage in departmental meetings, serve on committees, and contribute to administrative tasks that support the department’s functioning.
- **Program Development**: Assist in developing and evaluating educational programs and initiatives related to pharmacology and drug therapy.
6. **Professional Development and Engagement**:
- **Continuing Education**: Stay current with advances in pharmacology through ongoing education and training to maintain expertise and adapt to new developments.
