Utility Operator

Operate and monitor all utility systems to ensure continuous, efficient service for the plant. This includes **cooling towers, chillers/refrigeration units, air compressors, nitrogen generators, pumps, boilers**, and other support systems.
- Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting on equipment. Perform minor mechanical repairs (lubrication, cleaning, part replacements) or coordinate with maintenance as needed.
- Respond promptly to equipment alarms or failures. Attend emergency calls (e.g., outages, leaks, trips) and restore utility services safely. Participate actively in planned shutdowns and startups, assisting with system checks, valve operations and coordination with other trades.
- Monitor system parameters (pressure, temperature, flow) and record readings at set intervals. Maintain accurate logs and reports of operational data, maintenance activities and any incidents.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations. Use proper PPE, follow lockout/tagout procedures, and adhere to all company and regulatory safety protocols.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams regarding utility requirements and any plant process changes. Communicate effectively to support process optimization and resolve utility-related issues promptly.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial control systems. Ability to read piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), maintenance manuals and follow standard operating procedures. Familiarity with SCADA or DCS monitoring systems is a plus.
- Computer literacy, including basic use of Microsoft Office or plant maintenance software, for reporting and data entry. Comfortable with digital instrumentation and trend analysis tools.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability: diagnose malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Maintains calm and clear judgment during plant upsets or emergencies.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Works well under supervision or independently, and can coordinate tasks among shifts. Good verbal and written communication for shift handovers and report writing.
- Safety orientation: strictly follows safety rules and encourages safe work practices. Capable of conducting hazard assessments and mitigating risks proactively.
- Industrial plant setting (PET resin production facility) with round-the-clock operations. Work areas include mechanical rooms, utility buildings, and outdoor tank/cooling tower areas. Exposure to **varying temperatures (cold or hot), noise, dust and fumes** is common.
- Handles physical tasks: climbing ladders, lifting or moving equipment (up to ~50 lb routinely), standing for extended periods, and working in confined or elevated spaces as needed. Work can be indoors or outdoors, depending on equipment location.
- Requires strict adherence to safety protocols due to high-pressure systems, hot steam/hot water, electrical hazards and rotating machinery. PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) is mandatory, and work often occurs under permit-required conditions for confined spaces or energized systems.
- Shift work is typically required (e.g. day, swing, night shifts) with availability for overtime during emergencies or shutdowns. Flexibility and reliability are essential.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
