**Sheet Metal Designer (Cutting & Bending)**

**Position Title: Sheet Metal Design Engineer / Sheet Metal CAD Designer**

**Summary**:
**A skilled professional specializing in the design and development of sheet metal components and assemblies, responsible for creating accurate 3D models, 2D drawings, and preparing manufacturing-ready designs for cutting, bending, and fabrication processes.**

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Create 3D models and 2D drawings of sheet metal parts using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, CATIA, etc.).**

**Develop flat patterns and prepare DXF/DWG files for CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, punching, or waterjet cutting.**

**Design bend allowances, K-factors, reliefs, and other features to ensure manufacturability and minimize material waste.**

**Collaborate with the fabrication and production teams to optimize designs for bending, welding, and assembly.**

**Select appropriate materials and thicknesses based on mechanical and functional requirements.**

**Perform tolerance analysis and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.**

**Maintain and update BOMs (Bill of Materials) and production documentation.**

**Support continuous improvement by suggesting design improvements to reduce cost and improve quality.**

**Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for feasibility and cost estimation.**

**Skills & Competencies**:
**Strong knowledge of sheet metal design principles.**

**Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks Sheet Metal module, AutoCAD, Inventor, CATIA, or similar).**

**Understanding of manufacturing processes: cutting, bending, punching, welding.**

**Knowledge of material properties, bend radii, and K-factor calculations.**

**Ability to read and create detailed technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.**

**Good communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.**

**Qualifications**:
**Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.**

**3-7 years for senior roles.**

**Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.**

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
