**ob Title**: Junior Safety Officer

**Department**: Safety/Health & Environment (HSE)
**Reports To**: Senior Safety Officer

**Job Summary**:
The Junior Safety Officer will assist in the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This role supports the senior safety team in promoting safety awareness and compliance with regulatory requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Report safety incidents, near misses, and accidents, and assist in the investigation of incidents to determine root causes.
- Provide support for safety training programs and employee safety inductions.
- Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Keep records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessment, and hazard analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is a plus.
- Experience in a construction, manufacturing, or industrial environment is an advantage.
