**Job description for Proof reader/ Editor**

NPPL, Nageen Prakashan Pvt.Ltd. is one of the leading publishers of academic books. We develop books for primary, secondary, and senior secondary classes across various boards. Our books have been catering to students for over 50+years now. We aim to provide textbooks that contribute to the knowledge and skills of younger generation.

This is the full time on site role for editor/proof reader. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of written content. You will be reviewing and correcting all kinds of errors and deficiencies in various written materials. The role will be based in Meerut.

**Roles and responsibilities**
- Review science textbooks (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) for errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, formatting, and style.
- Check and correct scientific terminology, diagrams, formulas, and units according to ISC and CBSE standards.
- Collaborate with writers and editors to maintain content quality.
- Review references, captions, footnotes, and glossary entries for correctness.
- Verify facts, data, and references to ensure accuracy.
- Check for consistency in formatting, headings, fonts and other visual elements.

**Job qualification and skill set**
- Proven working experience as an Editor/Proof reader.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or English, communication, or as related field.
- An eye for detail along with critical thinking.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to suggest edits for clarity and flow, beyond just grammatical corrections.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
