**Overview**: The Art Teacher will be responsible for providing creative and engaging art education to students in classes 6 to 8. This role involves developing lesson plans, teaching various art techniques, and fostering a love for art and creativity among students.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Instructional Delivery**:
- Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials for visual arts education, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
- Teach students various art techniques, principles of design, and art history in a way that inspires creativity and artistic expression.
- Provide individual and group instruction in art techniques and encourage students to explore their own artistic styles and interests.
- **Assessment and Evaluation**:
- Assess and evaluate student performance through projects, portfolios, and classroom participation.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on students’ artwork and progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievements and evaluations.
- **Student Support**:
- Offer additional support and guidance to students who need help with their art projects or techniques.
- Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters creativity and encourages artistic exploration.
- Organize and prepare students for art exhibitions, contests, and school events.
- **Curriculum Development**:
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the art curriculum.
- Stay updated with current art trends, techniques, and educational practices, incorporating these into lesson planning and teaching.
- **Classroom Management**:
- Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures to maintain a respectful and productive learning environment.
- Manage art supplies and materials, ensuring they are used effectively and responsibly.
- Ensure that the art classroom is organized, clean, and conducive to creative work.
- **Professional Development**:
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to school-wide artistic and educational initiatives.
- **Communication**:
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Provide regular updates to parents about their child’s progress in art education and any upcoming art-related events.

**Qualifications**:
- **Educational Requirements**:
- BFA/MFA (Bachelor/Master of Fine Arts) or equivalent degree in Art with a focus on education.
- **Experience**:
- Proven experience teaching art to middle school students.
- Familiarity with educational standards and assessment methods for visual arts.
- **Skills and Competencies**:
- Strong knowledge of various art techniques, styles, and art history.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
