**The Role**

**Role Summary**:
We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on **AWS Data Architect**who combines deep technical expertise in data engineering with the ability to confidently lead architectural discussions, present whiteboard designs, and drive end-to-end implementation of data pipelines and cloud-native architectures. This is a hybrid role requiring both **engineering execution**and **solution architecture leadership**.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design, architect, and implement scalable and secure **data pipelines**and **data platforms**on AWS.
- Lead architecture sessions with clients/stakeholders—confidently **whiteboarding and explaining data flow**, architecture, integration, and security aspects.
- Build and optimize **data ingestion, transformation**, and **publishing workflows**using AWS Glue, Lambda, and custom Python code.
- Integrate AWS services such as **SNS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Fargate, and DynamoDB**for real-time and batch data processing use cases.
- Define and enforce architecture best practices, data governance, and security standards.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to build and maintain **CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions**and custom workflows.
- Support performance tuning, monitoring, and reliability of the data infrastructure.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and actively participate in code reviews and architectural evaluations.

**Who You Are**

**Required Technical Skills**:

- **Strong AWS architecture and engineering experience**, especially in:

- **Glue (ETL/ELT)**
- **Lambda**
- **SNS**, **CloudWatch**, **API Gateway**, **Fargate**, **DynamoDB**
- Proficient in building and optimizing **data pipelines and orchestration workflows**
- Expertise in **Python**(primary language), with basic to intermediate skills in **Java**
- Familiarity with **PostgreSQL**and **Redis**for structured and in-memory data storage
- Hands-on experience with **CI/CD pipelines**, especially **GitHub Actions**and custom deployment workflows
- Strong understanding of **data modeling**, **schema design**, **data lake/data warehouse patterns**, and **API-driven architectures**
- Experience drawing, presenting, and explaining **architecture diagrams and data flows**to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- AWS certification(s) such as **AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty**or **AWS Solutions Architect**
- Experience with **real-time data processing**and event-driven architectures
- Exposure to containerized environments and microservices integration
- Experience working in Agile delivery models with distributed teams

**Soft Skills & Attributes**:

- Strong **communication and presentation**skills - must be comfortable driving discussions and presenting to leadership
- Ability to **context-switch between architecture strategy and hands-on development**

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5 years of experience designing Enterprise Architecture
- Ability to architect, design and implement IT infrastructure and platforms within a large operating organization
- Knowledge utilizing TOGAF, Zachman framework, or other related enterprise architect technologies

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience with one or more of the cloud technologies
