Responsibilities:
- Work with business partners and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Knowledge of Database fundamentals, SQL, and distributed computing.
- Proficiency in more than one of the following scripting languages: SQL, Python, Csharp/C++/C, Java, Golang, and other modern languages.
- Perform code versioning and code deployments for data pipelines.
- Knowledge of IaC technologies like Terraform, and CI/CD technologies like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc. to partner with DevOps to build CI/CD pipelines associated with RDBMS-related elements of the overall IaC platform.
- Knowledge of container build process and container orchestration tools, such as with Docker or Kubernetes, within CI/CD environments to realize IaC.
- Demonstratable experience writing complex, highly optimized SQL queries across large data sets.
- Develop and implement data quality checks, database monitoring/optimizing routines, and assist with data quality checks and metrics, as part of performance monitoring of data infrastructure.
- Design, develop, and implement large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data models. Familiarity with pipelines for time series databases a plus. - Proficiency working with multiple vendor DBMS platforms, with experience in one or more of PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and data warehouses (i.e., Snowflake, Redshift, Vertica, Oracle, etc)
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, and familiarity with one or more hosted technologies such as S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Redshift, Aurora, and DMS Desired experience with ETL tools, database migration from on-premises to Cloud, and cloud-hosted technologies for database service management.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 8-11 years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
- Experience with MySQL/Postgres/Aurora/MsSQL server tuning, query optimization, replication strategies, storage engines, monitoring, capacity planning, backups, recovery, HA, Clustering, etc.
- Ability to develop procedures, processes, and conventions to standardize database operations.
- Proficient in one of the scripting languages (shell, Perl, PHP, Python etc) for monitoring and custom automation.
- Good understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
