**Job Summary**:
The Safety Officer ensures the safety and health of workers in an agricultural equipment manufacturing environment by enforcing occupational health and safety (OHS) standards, conducting inspections, and promoting a culture of safety. The role involves identifying risks associated with heavy machinery, welding, painting, assembly, and mechanical processes specific to the manufacturing of tractors, tillers, harvesters, and other agricultural machinery.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Safety Compliance and Policy Enforcement**
- Enforce compliance with local labor laws, environmental regulations, and international safety standards (e.g., ISO 45001, OSHA).
- Develop and maintain safety procedures tailored to agricultural equipment manufacturing (e.g., mechanical assembly lines, CNC operations, welding stations, etc.).

**2. Inspections and Risk Management**
- Conduct daily inspections of factory floors, fabrication areas, painting booths, and testing bays to identify potential hazards (e.g., sharp tools, moving parts, welding fumes, flammable materials).
- Lead risk assessments specific to mechanical assembly, hydraulic testing, and electrical installations.
- Ensure machine guards, emergency shut-offs, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) systems are properly implemented and used.

**3. Safety Training and Awareness**
- Train employees on safe handling of machinery and tools, safe welding practices, working at height, and proper PPE usage.
- Organize toolbox talks, drills, and safety induction for new hires and contractors.

**4. Incident Reporting and Investigation**
- Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and equipment-related injuries.
- Document findings and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

**5. Emergency Preparedness**
- Maintain and test fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency response kits.
- Conduct emergency evacuation drills and prepare response plans for factory-specific hazards (e.g., fire in paint booths or hydraulic oil spills).

**6. PPE Management and Monitoring**
- Ensure proper usage of PPE like safety shoes, helmets, gloves, welding masks, ear protection, etc.
- Regularly audit PPE stock and ensure availability for all workers and visitors.

**7. Coordination and Reporting**
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance departments to embed safety into daily operations.
- Report safety performance indicators to management and support compliance audits.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- **Education**: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
- **Certifications**: NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent HSE certification.
- **Experience**: 2-5 years in a similar manufacturing or heavy industry environment, preferably related to machinery or equipment production.
- **Skills**:

- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic safety standards.
- Excellent communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety inspection tools.

**Desirable Attributes**:

- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, CNC machining, and painting.
- Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or other safety/environmental management systems.
- Ability to lead by example and promote safety as a core value on the shop floor.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
