**Position Title**: MIG Welder

**Job Summary**:
A MIG Welder is responsible for performing welding operations using the Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding process to fabricate, repair, and assemble metal structures and components. The MIG Welder must adhere to all safety procedures, demonstrate high attention to detail, and work efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Welding Operations**: Perform MIG welding on various metals (steel, aluminum, stainless steel) to specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
- **Material Handling**: Select appropriate materials and thickness for welding projects; ensure all materials are properly prepared and free from defects.
- **Inspection**: Inspect welds for quality and integrity to ensure they meet company and industry standards. Use tools such as calipers, gauges, and other measurement instruments.
- **Blueprint Interpretation**: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
- **Quality Control**: Conduct periodic inspections and ensure that all welds are uniform, clean, and meet applicable standards (e.g., ASME, AWS).
- **Safety**: Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Operate and maintain MIG welding machines, tools, and accessories. Perform basic maintenance tasks to keep equipment in good working condition.
- **Collaboration**: Work with other team members to ensure timely project completion. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding job progress and challenges.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in welding.
- **Experience**: Minimum 1 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- **Skills**:

- Proficient in the use of MIG welding equipment and tools.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques, metal properties, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- **Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift heavy materials.
- Ability to work in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
- Tolerate exposure to welding fumes, heat, and noise levels associated with welding operations.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Must pass a welding test as part of the hiring process.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts if needed.

**SALARY RANGE**:
