**Job Description: Math Educator, Grade 10 - Hamari Shala Program, Ashraya**

**Background**:
Ashraya Initiative for Children’s integrated 4-program model is designed to meet immediate individual needs while providing long-term growth opportunities and community development. We work with Denotified and Notified Tribal Groups in Yerwada. Since 2005, AIC has supported hundreds of out-of-school children, empowering them through education.

The Hamari Shala Program (HSP) is a schooling program under the NIOS board. At AIC, we prioritize experiential and project-based learning methods to provide a nurturing and supportive educational environment.

**Position Summary**:
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Goal-Oriented Instruction**:

- Set clear academic goals for grade 10 math students, aiming for 80% or higher achievement in the NIOS math examination.
- Develop individual and class-level strategies to bridge learning gaps and strengthen foundational math concepts.
- **Lesson Planning and Delivery**:

- Design and implement daily and long-term lesson plans aligned with NIOS curriculum standards.
- Incorporate technology, interactive tools, and creative teaching methods to make lessons engaging and effective.
- **Student Monitoring and Support**:

- Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, mock tests, and performance reviews.
- Identify and support students requiring additional help through remedial sessions or collaboration with counselors and remedial teachers.
- Track and maintain student attendance and participation; alert the management of persistent absenteeism.
- **Parental and Community Engagement**:

- Conduct regular parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress and strategies for improvement.
- Participate in basti visits and involve the community in supporting students’ learning goals.
- **Administrative and Collaborative Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and submit student performance reports, including Bi-annual reports and creative work samples.
- Attend organizational meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to foster a positive, purposeful, and productive school environment.
- **Student Enrichment Activities**:

- **Educational Qualifications**: Graduation in Mathematics, B.Ed. preferred; a Master's in Mathematics is advantageous.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level, with a focus on achieving academic outcomes. Experience in non-profit education is preferred.
- **Skills**:

- Proficiency in English and Hindi (written and oral).
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Familiarity with experiential and interactive learning methods.
- Proficient in using technology and online resources for teaching.
