Scrutinizing the books of accounts and identifying TDS liability based on the expenses and advance payments, passing necessary TDS deduction entries.
- File TDS returns for multiple entities with a huge volume of deductees and payment challans.
- File revised returns, wherever necessary.
- Address TDS defaults, identify the root cause, resolve the issues and clear the demand raised.
- Should have good experience in Tally Prime Edit Log, must handle multiple tally backups of branches and consolidate the data for TDS returns filing.
- Extract TDS certificate and issue to the vendors.
- Excellent at handling MS excel for preparing data, extracting reports/ledgers, preparing reconciliations and workings to support the returns.
- Follow up with the head accounts and site accounts team to get PAN and other necessary information for TDS return filing.
- Good knowledge of Tax rate applicability, tax calculation for salaried employees under new tax regime and old tax regime.
- Review employees' tax calculations.
- Good knowledge of TDS provisions, applicable TDS rates for all nature of transactions.
- Create and maintain appropriate documents supporting the returns filed.
- Excellent at handling MS excel for preparing data, extracting reports/ledgers, preparing reconciliations and workings to support the returns.
- Drafting reply to notices from the TDS department. Good at English and Tamil. Hindi would be an added advantage.
