
Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate

ABSS Solutions, Inc. is provides Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate services in support of the Air Force Family Advocacy Program at multiple OCONUS (Outside of the United States) Military Bases including Alaska, Japan, and South Korea. The Victim Advocate will become part of the Air Force Family Advocacy Program designed to address family maltreatment. The Family Advocacy Program advocates for nonviolent communities through the use of broad-based education and awareness activities along with the identification and treatment of family maltreatment incidents.
The victims’ safety is the Victim Advocate top responsibility and priority. The Victim Advocate:
- Provides 24 hour/7 days a week response to victims alleging domestic abuse
- Develops safety plans based on initial and ongoing risk assessments
- Partners with the FAP treatment/case manager to support the victim and promote safety for the victim and children in the home
- Supports the Family Advocacy Treatment Manager (FATM) to develop System Advocacy, Education and Public Awareness, promoting a coordinated community response to domestic abuse and Collaborates with the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) to establish protocols.
- Is a member of the installation Family Advocacy Committee (FAC) and reports to the Family Advocacy Officer (FAO) The Victim Advocate participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of installation domestic abuse policies and protocols
- Supports the Family Advocacy Program (FAP), Outreach Program (OP) and New Parent Support Program (NPSP) prevention activities. The Victims Advocate will actively participate in all resiliency initiatives designed to prevent domestic abuse.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field
Individuals currently certified as DAVAs may be considered in lieu of education and/or experience requirements. The Government will verify all DAVA personnel certifications and experience with the appropriate agency as referenced in the contractor’s source documents.
Experience: At least one-year post bachelor’s experience in Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy or two years of experience in family maltreatment.
