This role is ideal for a legal professional who not only has a strong foundation in legal practice but also possesses the technical expertise required to support and drive initiatives within our organization and can effectively bridge the gap between law and technology. You will have an opportunity to: - Work closely with Monotype’s engineering/technical teams to understand and address their legal support needs.- Provide full contract support and legal advice for engagements with third parties, including contractors, consultants, and joint ventures, as well as managing NDAs.- Guide procurement processes involving infrastructure and software licensing, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.- Advice on legal considerations for technology products (privacy, cybersecurity, data, intellectual property overlaps) and collaborate on business model development with the VP of Global Licensing and Strategy.- Develop and help implement technology-related policies that support innovation and compliance across the organization.- Leverage your technical understanding—preferably backed by formal education in Information Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent academic experience—to bridge the gap between legal counsel and technology support. What we’re looking for: - Licensed to practice law in India and in good standing, with a minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a legal advisor (solicitor) to tech companies.- Demonstrated experience in managing and negotiating technology contracts, including those related to third-party collaborations and procurement.- - Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex legal and technical concepts to diverse audiences.- A strong team player with a proven track record of working effectively across multidisciplinary teams and driving strategic legal initiatives in dynamic, tech-driven environments.
