Fashion photographers have a range of job responsibilities. Here are some specific examples of what fashion photographers do:

You can find photography courses online or through local community colleges and art centers. You may also be able to take photography as an elective during high school or college. In a photography course, you learn about ISO, lighting, exposure, composition, photo editing and other important foundational components. You may also have the chance to complete photography assignments that you can add to a portfolio.

3. Practice regularly

Regardless of your level of experience with photography, practicing on a consistent basis can help you maintain and develop your skills. You can do this by practicing portrait photography, nature photography and any other specialties you find interesting. Through practice, you can learn how to direct models, use the natural light and navigate different camera features.

4. Consider a degree in photography

You don't need a degree in photography to qualify for a fashion photography role, but it can help enhance your employability and provide you with in-depth learning experiences. There are some schools that offer fashion photography programs at the bachelor's and master's degree levels, but you can also earn a degree in general photography or digital photography at the associate or bachelor's degree level.

5. Build a professional portfolio

**Skills**:
Fashion photographers need to have a degree of physical stamina because they need to be able to stand, squat or angle their body to capture images during photo shoots. When conducting outdoor photo shoots, fashion photographers may also need to walk long distances to reach shoot locations.
