The Amazon Appstore is an online store operated by Amazon that allows users to browse, download, and purchase apps and games for various platforms, including Android devices, Amazon Fire tablets, and Fire TV devices.
The Appstore System Quality team is an integral part of the Amazon Appstore. Our goal is to build the most relevant, high-quality Appstore services for customers across first-party devices like Fire TV and Fire tablets, as well as third-party Android devices.
System Quality team plays a crucial role in connecting content to customers while mitigating risks to the Amazon Appstore ecosystem. We accomplish this by certifying, blocking, and release developement testing. The team's key responsibilities include, but not limited to,
**APPLICATION TESTING**: Conduct comprehensive testing of Appstore services and deliver on complex regression testing and gate system releases. Have hands on experience Android, Fire OS and Software testing methodologies.
**CUSTOMER FEEDBACK MANAGEMENT**: Monitor and analyze user reviews and feedback, addressing concerns and taking appropriate action when necessary to maintain the integrity of the app store.
**CAREER PATH**: Device Associate I being the entry level role, Amazon Appstore provides opportunities to advance vertically to DA II and DA III roles, taking on increased responsibilities. Alternatively, employees can explore lateral movements into Business Analyst positions such as BA Support, BA I or BA II, transitioning into leadership roles such as Program Manager or Operations Manager, or specializing in Quality Assurance as QAT or QAE. The employee's career path will be driven by their performance, interests, and the Appstore's evolving requirements, which will be supported by continued training, mentorship, and cross-functional opportunities.
Key job responsibilities
Individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion, with guidance.
QAT would be responsible for understanding the features and detailed functional requirements well enough, coming up with the test cases with some guidance, test execution and reporting with high bar on quality.
QAT's are technically savvy in use of software, computers and devices, support automation, can install and configure software, can use debug settings, have technical ability to gather logs, traces, etc. to add to bug reports when provided with instructions.
They assist developers or other testers and maintain a high quality test environment.
- EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, with relevant certifications in software testing or quality assurance
