**Job Title: Purchase Engineer**

Job Summary:
The Purchase Engineer is responsible for managing procurement activities, focusing on acquiring materials, components, and services essential for fabrication and machining processes. This role involves supplier management, cost optimization, and ensuring timely and quality delivery to support uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Procurement:

- Identify, source, and purchase raw materials, tools, equipment, and services required for fabrication and machining.
- Ensure all materials meet quality standards and are procured within the budget and timeline.

2. **Vendor Management**:

- Identify and develop reliable suppliers for various materials and components.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost.

3. Cost Control and Budgeting:

- Analyze and monitor procurement costs to meet budget constraints.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and seek ways to reduce costs without compromising quality.

4. Quality Assurance:

- Work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure materials meet required standards.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to material quality with suppliers.

5. Inventory and Stock Management:

- Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure smooth production without overstocking.
- Work with the store department to track stock levels and order materials just in time.

6. Documentation and Compliance:

- Prepare purchase orders, quotations, and procurement-related documents.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.

7. Cross-Department Coordination:

- Collaborate with production, planning, and quality teams to ensure material requirements are met.
- Communicate any delays or issues with internal teams and find resolutions to maintain project timelines.

8. Market Research:

- Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new products relevant to the fabrication and machining industry.
- Identify alternative materials or suppliers to reduce costs or improve quality.

9. Reporting and Analytics:

- Generate periodic reports on procurement activities, costs, savings, and supplier performance.
- Provide insights and suggestions for process improvements based on data analysis.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within a fabrication and machining environment.
- Technical Skills:

- Knowledge of materials used in fabrication and machining, such as metals, welding supplies, and machining tools.
- Proficient in ERP systems, MS Office, and procurement software.
- Soft Skills:

- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and time-management abilities.

Reports to: Plant Manager

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
