DevOps Architect

**Overview**: As part of the _Digital Technologies Enterprise Architect _team, you'll help drive digital transformation by contributing to our growing DevOps initiative. This initiative is a key component to the enablement of our portfolio of aerospace digital products. **Position**: DevOps architecture (P5**)** **Primary Responsibilities**: 15+ years experience in security architecture including the following: - Lead the DevOps architecture definition and help manage execution to achieve the desired target state - Proven track record as a Solutions Architect or Technical Lead, crafting solutions and delivering business outcomes - Proficient in the architecture and administration of a wide range of AWS Services (e.g. VPC, ALB, Fargate, Glue, CodeStar). Ability to evaluate new services and develop patterns to enable enterprise adoption - Strong cloud-based design and/or delivery experience utilizing DevOps and CI/CD approaches (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible) - Experience with one or more cloud-based general-purpose programming languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.) - Strong understanding and consistent record for automation methods (both cloud-based and on-premises) - Executing proof-of-concept activities to help design and validate proposed future state concepts and architectures - Knowledge of IT audit, regulatory, and compliance in the Aerospace and Defense industry is a plus - Experience developing and building a DevOps user community. Providing technical guidance to community members and mentoring to junior developers The **Purpose** of Your Role - Partner with peers, business leaders, product managers and the broader digital technology community, to architect for today, to re-imagine the future and to bridge from today to that future. - Practices a customer-focused approach, driven to listen and fully understand the request. Uses business language in discussions with business stakeholders. - Leads cross-functional teams focused on technical planning, IT solution design and technology options and total cost of ownership and total value choices. - Create and Articulate future state architecture via a Narrative document, complemented by a detailed Strategy, which contains all of the relevant Architecture & Design artifacts enabling the business strategy and delivering value our customers will recognize. - Additionally, it is expected that the proposed Future State Architecture has been validated with proofs-of-concepts / minimum viable products. - A detailed DevOps Transformation plan developed & reviewed with respect to digital enterprise systems regarding the evolution from the Current to Future State architectures. - Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations affecting your business partners. - Conduct maturity self-assessment of DT and provide recommendation to become market competent - Resilient and Adaptable - Quickly adapt to changing market and organizational priorities The **Skills** You Bring - Extensive knowledge of architectures for DevOps and/or Development - Hands-on experience building and operating continuous integration and development pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, AWS Code Star) - Cloud native implementation experience across multiple platforms (e.g. AWS, AZURE) and languages (e.g. JavaScript,.NET) - Experience with multiple development languages (e.g. JavaScript, Node.js,.NET, Vue, React, Angular) - AWS and Azure Services (e.g. API Gateway, WAF, Serverless) - Authentication & Authorization technologies (e.g. OAuth, SAML) - Infrastructure automation using common automation (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform) - Enterprise continuous integration and layered testing principles - Experience in common scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell) - Container management and deployment (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker) - Version Control/Git/SVN/Bitbucket - Web service experience building, testing, securing, exposing and consuming API’s - Experience in Agile development methodologies **Basic Qualifications**: - Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
