Finance Controller

**Responsibilities**:
**Strategic**
- Develops strategies and executes activities to drive and continuously improve financial results, drive efficiency and improve market share.
- As a member of the overall senior management team of the Unit and head of the Finance & Accounting function, develops and implements company-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the unit and the organization.
- Target customer satisfaction for both internal and external customers.
- Provide the financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of the company strategy and initiatives while maximizing the return on investment to the Stake Holders and Company.
- Develop and executes business plan in coordination with the Senior Management team of the Unit that is aligned with the Overall company strategy and brand, business strategy and focuses on the execution of financial and accounting activities and the delivery of desirable financial results.

**Financial Business Leadership**
- Leverage strong financial expertise to successfully provide leadership to the finance and account function and achieve objectives set for the Unit.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the business (Unit operation, industry drivers, challenges, competitors, brands position in the global market place) and asserts leadership to influence the strategic direction of the operation, unveil opportunities for growth, optimize allocation of financial resources and drive business results and cost control / optimization measures.
- Focus on maximizing the propertys top revenue line by supporting the development of revenue generating strategies for Food and Beverage and other areas of the Unit.
- Focus on strategies for improving the bottom profit line by educating department heads on sales and profit maximization and implications of business decisions and providing analytical decision support and tools.

**Financial and Accounting Management**
- Effectively manages the execution of finance and accounting responsibilities for the Unit including development of the annual business plan and operating budget, forecasting, internal controls, financial analysis, cash management, balance sheet reconciliation, financial reporting, P&L accuracy, capital expenditure budget, etc.
- Provides strong technical expertise and direction, ensures appropriate controls are in place to manage business risks, manages through reliable systems and processes and works through own team and influences other department managers to drive results.
- Understand and appreciate Corporate Finance accounting, MIS and reporting requirements and the associated timelines.

**Human Resources development of Finance & Accounting department**
- Creates and sustains a work environment that embraces the brands culture, ensures fair and equitable treatment and associate satisfaction to enable business success.
- Manages an effective balance between the Operations and Finance and develops solutions that meet expectations and create value for both.
- Ensures new hires participate in the departments orientation program and receive the appropriate training to successfully perform their job.
- Ensures team members are cross-trained to support successful daily operations.

Creates appropriate development plans and develops team members based on their individual strengths, development needs, career aspirations and abilities.
- Remain updated at all times with new developments in accounting, accounting standards, direct and indirect tax laws and compliance, reporting requirements.
- Be reasonably aware of new developments in industry which impact the Unit.
- Understand and assist in proper development of pricing policies for customers.
- Review all expenses and suggest effective measures for cost control and cost optimization.
- Develop, monitor and implement as a team cost control measures.
- Review all contracts pertaining to manpower, facilities, customers, etc. to ensure that commercial and legal terms are not detrimental to the financial and commercial interest of the unit specifically and the Company in general.
- Ensures that the P&L is accurate (i.e., costs are properly matched to revenue, costs are recorded in the proper accounts) and statements are delivered to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
- Effectively leverages centralized accounting processes and shared services.
- Ensures tax rates used for sales/use tax are current and proper amounts are collected and/or accrued.
- Ensures tax exempt transactions are appropriate and properly documented.

Reviews audit issues and ensure appropriate corrections are implemented in a time bound manner.
- Understands the Company perspective and ROI expectations and manages an effective balance between the Stake Holders interests and MI's interests, developing solutions that create value for both.
