Position Overview:
SS&C is seeking a Solution Architect to join our IFDS Technologies team in a financially regulated environment. The Solution Architect will translate client requirements into solutions that create value for IFDS and their clients. This individual will participate in projects to establish direction, provide both high level estimates and the solution architecture, ensuring adherence with Enterprise Architecture standards, while respecting both long-term and tactical objectives.

**Requirements**:

- Responsible for Solution Architecture of new iFast solutions and enhancements
- Translates complex functional, technical and business requirements into architectural designs
- Ensures all solutions are aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards and road maps
- Prepares high level estimates for projects
- Accountable for the technical integrity, cost effectiveness, and supportability of solutions, meeting client requirements and industry best practices
- Recommends new technologies and participates in the development of new IT standards and processes based on industry best practices
- Closely follows the strategic direction set by Enterprise Architecture when establishing near term goals.
- Provides clear and concise articulation, presentation, and documentation of technical opportunities, constraints, recommendations, and action items to both internal and external audiences
- Interacts with senior management at a client and/or within IFDS on matters where they may need to gain acceptance on an alternate approach
- Reviews and approves system documentation used in design, testing or programming efforts.

Qualifications:
Critical
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of ten (10) years of IT experience, including at least three (3) years as a Solution Architect and more than 5 years of software design and development experience
- Deep knowledge and experience in technology and projects, delivering solutions across multiple channels and form factors (e.g., web, mobile, etc.)
- Experience with in one-or-more of the following:

- Experience with Microservice Architecture
- Experience with Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience with Web Technology
- Experience with J2EE technology
- Experience with C++
- Experience in Data modeling and Database design
- More than 2 years of experience in estimating software development
- Intimate knowledge of the software development life cycle
- More than 2 years of experience working with clients to understand requirements
- Influencing and negotiating skill to achieve an outcome that meets both client needs and architectural standards
- Deep knowledge of structured / object oriented programming
- Team player with leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under time constraints
- Effective communicator with strong oral and writing skills
