A **Chinese Cook** specializes in preparing Chinese cuisine, which includes a wide variety of dishes that involve distinct cooking techniques and flavor profiles, such as stir-frying, steaming, and braising. This role focuses on delivering traditional and contemporary Chinese dishes while ensuring that the food is authentic, consistent, and of high quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- **Food Preparation & Cooking**:
- Prepare a wide range of Chinese dishes, including appetizers, soups, main courses, side dishes, and desserts.
- Master techniques such as stir-frying, steaming, deep-frying, braising, and boiling, which are common in Chinese cooking.
- Follow specific recipes and cooking methods to ensure consistency in flavor, presentation, and texture.
- Prepare and cook rice, noodles, and other staples that are foundational to Chinese cuisine.
- **Menu Development & Recipe Creation**:
- Collaborate with the head chef or kitchen manager in designing the menu, ensuring the inclusion of classic Chinese dishes as well as innovative offerings.
- Suggest new dishes, variations, or modern twists on traditional Chinese recipes to keep the menu fresh and appealing.
- **Quality Control**:
- Monitor the quality of all food being prepared, ensuring it meets the restaurant's standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
- Adjust cooking techniques, seasoning, or cooking times as needed to maintain high-quality food.
- **Ingredient Sourcing & Inventory Management**:
- Source and procure fresh, high-quality ingredients that are essential for Chinese cooking, such as soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and specific Chinese vegetables.
- Assist in inventory management, ensuring ingredients are properly stored and used before their expiration date.
- Keep the kitchen stocked with essential supplies and maintain an organized inventory of food items.
- **Kitchen Cleanliness & Hygiene**:
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, following proper sanitation and safety standards.
- Clean cooking tools, equipment, and workstations after use to maintain hygiene.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food storage and handling.
- **Staff Supervision & Training**:
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff or line cooks in preparing dishes according to Chinese culinary traditions.
- Provide training in Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and safety practices.
- Work alongside the kitchen team to ensure a smooth workflow during busy periods
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
