Er Nurse

**Assessment of patient’s needs**:

- Serve as the content expert for all ERAS initiatives and educate the entire team as performance measures change and new goals/targets are established.

**Development of patient care plan/s**:

- Coordination of ERAS education beginning in the MD offices and coordinating the continuation of care through the hospital stay and beyond discharge into the community.
- Work closely with Pre-Admission testing to ensure that patients are properly educated about expectations and their part in their recovery process.

**Provision of direct/indirect care**:

- Work with the educators and physicians on the development and maintenance of ERAS protocols and order sets. Facilitate changes with the EPIC team to make changes when needed.

**Management of patient care delivery**:

- Be a liaison between the educators and the staff on the floors that receive ERAS patients to ensure that ERAS protocols/orders are followed and that patients are being managed appropriately.

**Demonstration of leadership skills**:

- Lead the interdisciplinary teams that are already established as well as develop and establish new teams in other specialty areas.
- Develop time lines and be the project manager to lead new initiatives related to the furtherance of ERAS within the Baptist organization.

**Support for quality care**:

- Utilize performance improvement techniques and methodologies to improve outcomes. Thus design and implements strategies for enhancing performance.
- Analyze data to identify adverse trends and/or undesirable performance. Establish performance targets for overall goals.

**Customer relations and healing environment**:

- Facilitate patient satisfaction surveys and address patient/staff or physician concerns related to ERAS coordination and care delivery.
