**Technical Need Analysis**

Provide inputs to R&D team on Best Practices, methods and emerging technologies in the related domain; Support in evaluating their applicability and feasibility for implementation at GSTN

Assist in identifying critical architectural & infrastructure gaps in the security of the Information Technology environment and support in recommending solutions to solve potential problems and security issues

**Design of Application Architecture**

Identify techniques and technologies that should be applied at the Application Integration/ Value Added/ Other Applications Level; define the system and operational requirements that the Technical infrastructure must support and collaborate with Head, Infrastructure to ensure the same

Collaborate with consultant/ vendor to detail the Application Architecture for Application Integration/ Value Added/ Other Applications as part of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Participate in Application/ Project design and ensure that the Application Integration/ Value Added/ Other Applications design is in conformance with the Enterprise Security and Infrastructure Architecture

Identify and ensure timely resolution of the potential implications and conflicts between the Application architecture, with any constraints imposed by the Application (logical/physical) design to the architecture; evaluate viable alternative approaches and recommendations in coordination with the consultant/ vendor

Identify and build improvements in the existing/future architecture based on changing needs of the organization, challenges faced in current implementation, technological changes at Providing Organization’s end or changing needs of the User Agencies (UAs)

Assist in identifying critical architectural gaps in the security of the Information Technology environment and support in recommending solutions to solve potential problems and security issues

**Application Development**

Provide inputs for bid-process management for selection of vendors for implementation of products & services for the Application Integration/ Value Added/ Other Applications, including inputs for design of RFPs, evaluation of vendors etc

Communicate the Integration Applications / Value Added/ Other Applications blueprint to the finalized vendor in order to undertake development of Integration Application/ Value Added/ Other Applications configuration, in line with the envisaged plan

Monitor the activities of System Integrators (SIs) to ensure that implementation and working of Cafeteria/ Value Added/ Other Applications is as per the defined guidelines of cost, quality and time

Ensure testing & commissioning of Integrating Applications / Value Added/ Other Applications designed by SI (MSP/ vendor); Ensure compliance to desired specifications & requirements

Ensure all dependencies, priorities and risks are managed across the Integrating / Value Added/ Other Applications. Keep a track of the project budget and investigate reasons for deviations, if any

Provide inputs on the performance evaluation of contracted SIs/ Consultants

Ensure removal of bottlenecks and hurdles for the smooth advancement of activities

Provide technical guidance to the O&M team for upkeep & maintenance of the Integrating Applications/ Value Added/ Other Applications

Liaison with the Information Security function to identify and define the Information Security Policies, Processes and Guidelines for GSTN and support in ensuring adherence to the same

Support in designing the Enterprise Applications & Database Security Architecture for GSTN including design of the Integration & Deployment Architectures for Security in Applications and Systems & Service Management systems

**People Development**

Take an active role in recruitment of incumbents into own team

Conduct formal performance appraisal and provide developmental feedback for own team

Identify training needs of subordinates and provide functional training inputs through internal and external sources

**Others**

Ensure timely preparation of MIS and Status Updates for circulation to the Top Management and other authorities as may be required

Provide technical support to the business/Vendor/ Consultant Teams etc. as & when required

**Key Attributes & Skills**:
B.Tech (IT)/ B.E. degree / MCA / MBA IT / B.Sc with min. 10-14 years of IT experience in software development and maintenance at functional cum technical levels

Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in software development throughout the software development lifecycle
