A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) operator is responsible for running and maintaining CNC machines, which are used to manufacture and fabricate parts and products. Here is a detailed job description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up and operate CNC machines, including loading programs, setting tooling, and adjusting settings.

2. Load and unload materials, and monitor machine performance during production.

3. Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.

4. Troubleshoot issues with machines, programs, or materials.

5. Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.

6. Follow safety protocols and wear protective equipment.

7. Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and other team members to optimize production.

8. Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, and quality control.

9. Stay up-to-date with new technologies and techniques through training and professional development.

Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certification in CNC operations preferred.

2. 1-2 years of experience in CNC operations or a related field.

3. Strong understanding of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code).

4. Proficiency in operating CNC machines, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.

5. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

6. Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

7. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:
1. Manufacturing or production environment.

2. Exposure to noise, dust, and cutting oils.

3. May require overtime, including evenings and weekends.

Certifications and Training:
1. NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) certification.

2. CNC operator training programs.

3. Manufacturer-specific training.
