KKR is seeking a Product Counsel to join the Legal & Compliance team in Gurugram, India

**ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Operational Excellence**
- To provide legal support for a large, diversified and growing platform of alternative investment vehicles and separately managed accounts, with a focus on the distribution of KKR fund interests through investment banks, investment advisers, and other private wealth channels.
- Own and manage the process of entering into distribution and similar agreements for KKR funds, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, coordinating with outside counsel and various internal groups, and advising internal stakeholders on related matters.
- Oversight and management of compliance matters related to distributions agreements.
- Assist internal stakeholders and external law firms and other vendors with questions about existing distribution agreements and potential new agreements
- Interact with the team on a frequent basis to understand their requirements, reporting needs and possible bottlenecks
- Various projects, including legal oversight over additional agreements and arrangements relating to KKR funds and accounts that arise from time to time

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, along with excellent proficiency in English and ability to understand legal documents
- Excellent contract drafting and interpretation skills, and desire to learn and expand knowledge base to new areas of legal practice
- Displays high intellectual curiosity and innovative mindset
- Must be a self-starter who can work independently and be able to manage and prioritize multiple demands and projects
- Focuses on strong attention to detail and delivery excellence and accountability
- Displays team-work orientation and is highly collaborative
- Builds strong relationships with local and global colleagues
- Team player, personable and approachable
- Working knowledge of the following are a plus:
- Anti-money laundering / know-your-customer laws, regulations, and processes
- Compliance-related matters for an SEC-registered investment adviser
- ‘40 Act and registered funds
