**Role Summary**

As a Proofreader / Copywriter, you will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and crafting compelling written content across various platforms. From long-form articles and features to punchy web copy or promotional blurbs, your job is to ensure that everything we publish is clear, consistent, grammatically correct, and aligned with our tone and voice.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Proofreader Duties**:

- Review all editorial content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency.
- Ensure adherence to the magazine’s style guide and tone.
- Check for clarity, logical flow, and factual accuracy.
- Suggest improvements while preserving the author’s voice.
- Work with writers and editors to meet publication deadlines.

**Copywriter Duties**:

- Write original content for articles, headlines, web pages, social media, and newsletters.
- Collaborate with the editorial and marketing teams to align messaging.
- Turn complex topics into engaging, reader-friendly content.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice across all materials.

**Requirements**:

- Exceptional grasp of grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
- Strong editing and writing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience in proofreading, editing, or content writing.
- Familiarity with style guides (AP, Chicago, or house style).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Comfortable using Google Docs, Microsoft Word, or CMS platforms.
- A background in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Passion for clean, powerful, and polished content.

**Nice to Have**
- Familiarity with SEO and writing for digital platforms.
- Experience in a niche relevant to our publication.
- Comfort with light formatting or image sourcing (Canva, etc.).
