**Job Title**: Welding Engineer

**Job Summary**: The Welding Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining welding procedures to ensure the production of high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective welded products. The role involves overseeing welding processes, inspecting equipment, and collaborating with other departments to achieve manufacturing goals.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the selection of welding methods, materials, and equipment for specific projects.
- Conduct welding inspections and ensure compliance with relevant safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure welds meet technical requirements and are fabricated in the most efficient manner.
- Troubleshoot welding issues, both during the design phase and throughout the production process.
- Ensure that welding operations are performed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct training sessions for welding technicians and operators to improve skills and knowledge.
- Prepare and maintain welding documentation, including procedures, qualification records, and inspection reports.
- Analyze and resolve welding-related problems, using data and testing methods.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in welding technologies and techniques.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in welding engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Laser Welding).
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols.
- Proficiency in welding design software and CAD systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CWI - Certified Welding Inspector) may be required or preferred.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Advanced knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Experience with robotic welding systems.
- Experience in the aerospace, automotive, or heavy industrial sectors.

**Work Environment**:

- Manufacturing plants or industrial environments.
- Some travel may be required for site inspections and training.
- May involve working with hazardous materials or in noisy environments, with appropriate safety precautions.
