- Knows and practices the prescribed philosophy, purpose, policies, and standards of Nursing/Patient Care Services. Organizes, directs, and administers the Nursing/Patient Care Services in order to provide the level of care required by current medical and nursing standards.
- Initiates and participates in problem-solving, policy-forming conferences for Nursing/Patient Care Services.
- Approve the policy decisions that affect Nursing/Patient Care Services in the hospital
- Participate in monthly management meetings to discuss, census changes, personnel and nursing governance issues.
.+20 years’ experience in Nursing, out of which at least +8 years as Nursing superintendent role in NABH/ JCI Hospitals
- Responsible in recruiting the best talent
- Active participation in all Nursing recruitments (in-house, external, campus placements, job fairs)
- Short-list, train, schedule and motivate all nursing staff and get maximum output with respect to time and service standards.
- To identify the nursing needs of different departments and deploy nurses accordingly.
- To provide support to nursing staff in crisis situation, investigated all unusual incidents and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Responsible for assessing the competency mapping of new joinees& existing staff
- Taking measures to improve the competency scale
- Recommends, supports, and participates in education services, programs of education, and training, including orientation of new employees.
- Encourages and facilitates the professional advancement of employees by affording opportunities for further education and experience
- Maintains close coordination with all department to ensure continuity and collaboration of services
- Proactively develops positive employee relations, incentives, and recognition programs. Promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.
- Implement, monitor and evaluate performance improvement and CQI
- Provide credentialing & privileges to Nurses based on their awareness & skills
- Initiate and participate in nursing research to add value to the organization and the professional body of nursing.
- To ensure the department of Nursing is receiving Nursing excellence accreditation
- To ensure that the nursing practices in the organization are up to the mark in context with accreditation, regulatory and licensing standards and approved safety program of the hospital.
- Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards
- Maintains performance improvement activities within the department
- Continuous improvement in CQI & Nursing Quality metrics
- compliance with all state, local regulations laws, NABH standards, and protocols
- Maintains continuing quality assessment and improvement analysis. Continuous evaluation of patient care delivery
- Recommends the modification & improvement of Nursing care plan, standards & protocols for delivering best quality care
