The VTL Operator plays a crucial role in our machining operations, operating and maintaining vertical turning lathes to produce components according to specifications and quality standards. This position requires a strong understanding of lathe machining, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Set up and operate vertical turning lathes (VTLs) to produce machined parts as per engineering drawings, blueprints, or work instructions.
- Load raw materials into the machine, select appropriate cutting tools, and set cutting parameters (speeds, feeds, tool offsets, etc.).
- Monitor machine operations, adjust settings as necessary, and perform in-process inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance on VTLs, including tool changes, lubrication, and cleaning, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions or deviations from specifications, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with production planners, engineers, and quality control personnel to prioritize jobs, resolve issues, and meet production targets.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following lockout/tagout procedures, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Document production activities, including machine setup sheets, inspection reports, and tool usage logs, accurately and in a timely manner.
