- Essential Responsibilities- Utilizes and participates in the more complex full system development life cycle, per current Highmark SDLC standards.
- Takes a lead role in collaborating with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Concentrates on providing innovative solutions to more complex business needs.
- Takes a lead role in providing required technical support, including release implementations, on-call and 24x7 supports when necessary.
- Performs work in compliance with all Highmark and Highmark IT standards, policies and procedures.
- Actively takes a leading role and participates on project teams in various project roles, including, but not limited to, Developer, Technical Lead and Project Manager, based upon level of experience.
- Effectively communicates with team members, customers, partners and management, including assisting with or conducting more complex technical walkthroughs, reporting project status, enabling vendor solutions and providing accurate and concise documentation.
- Other duties as assigned or requested.

The experience we are looking to add to our team
- Required
- 10 - 15 years of leading teams in a technical environment- Proficiency in programming languages such as: Java, Perl, Python, and javascript/jQuery
- Experience in distributed systems and cloud-based AWS architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experienced on container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes and packing Microservices to be deployed on containers.
- In-depth understanding of API architecture, API Gateways, cloud architecture etc.
- Experienced in building scalable distributed systems and Microservices architecture by decomposing monolithic platforms.
- Extensive experience in a hands-on capacity with integration technologies such as HTTP/HTTPS, XML/XSLT, REST, SOAP, Web Services and APIs, SSO, SAML, OAuth, GraphQL, and Swagger
- Ability to integrate peripheral systems through API/ microservices.
- Familiarity with, SQL, NOSQL, or various other database technologies
- Ability to articulate complex technical topics clearly and concisely to both business and technical audiences in both written and verbal form
- Act as a key contact with product, business, platform, and other Engineering teams to solve technical issues.
- Be part of Design and architecture decisions and ensure Engineering excellence.
- Work closely with the technical team and guide them on production hiccups.
- Experience with Continuous Development/Deployment/Integration design, best practices, and tools
- Excellent Communication, Leadership, and Interpersonal skills

Good to have- US health care domain knowledge
- Exposure to US Clients would be an added advantage.

Familiarity working with Tomcat and Postgres a strong plus
- KEY SKILLS- Problem solving, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Experience in Healthcare or Health Insurance Industry
