**About School of Design**:
The School of Design at Anant National University houses the Design Disciplines of the University, namely Space design, Product Design, Interaction Design, Communication Design, Sustainable Fashion & Textiles, Moving Image and Transdisciplinary Design. Apart from these majors, the School also offers a choice of minors in allied fields a few examples being minors in Design for Health & Wellbeing, Furniture Design, Urban Design etc.

**Reporting to**:
Lead, Space Design

**Required education qualification and years of experience**:
PhD degree (desirable), with first-class at Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in appropriate branch with experience of eight years in teaching, research and/ or industry at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade, excluding the period spent on obtaining a research degree. Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching/ research/ industry.

**Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)**:
**Teaching & Education**
- Undertake research-led teaching at different levels of undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes
- Proactively respond to student concerns and queries (within and outside the classroom)
- maintain office hours on a weekly basis
- Design, develop and offer modules/electives within your area of expertise
- Play a significant role in reviewing course outline and ensure teaching quality among co-faculty
- Develop innovative approaches to learning and provide timely feedback and assessment of coursework and examinations
- Supervise students undertaking research projects as appropriate
- Develop and deliver course material, curricula and syllabi
- Assess, review and evaluate student activities and progress
- Proactively employ the highest quality standards for teaching-learning as benchmarked by the University

**Research and Consultancy**
- Publish quality research papers and articles in journals of national and international repute
- Publish an articles and books with reputed publishers
- Undertake sponsored research projects and consultancy from funding agencies and industry

**Academic Administration**
- Contribute to developing academic policies of the University
- Coach, advise, and mentor teaching assistants, and fellow colleagues
- Active participation in faculty and departmental meetings
- Support Office of Admissions in selecting quality students for
- Undergraduate, Post graduate and Fellowship Programme
- Collaborate with expert speakers and organise guest seminars and faculty events
- Assist in various departmental duties and support the Dean/Director of the
- School in their day-to-day academic activities and functions.
- Invigilate examinations/assessments/juries

**Key Skills**:

- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of software and digital tools used in ideation, space design, detail development, conceptual representation and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of Contemporary Materials & Systems: Understanding of different products,materials, systems, and processes relevant to contemporary and futuristic built spaces, including aspects related to sustainability, life-cycle analysis, pre-fabrication, modularity, 3D printing, etc.
- Research & Documentation Skills: Capability to conduct and lead research in areas related to space design and its systematic analysis, compilation, data representation and documentation.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively convey design concepts,provide constructive feedback to students, collaborate with colleagues, industry partners and conduct outreach activities.
