**BATTERY - LEAD ENGINEER**
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical/Electrical engineer with good experience in the electric vehicle industry for our Powertrain Team as Lead Engineer.
1. Previous Experience of handling high voltage battery commodity.
3. Strong electrical / electronic engineering technical background with proven knowledge and delivery of HV components associated with battery system development and industrialization or similar complexity
4. Experience designing electrical battery architecture and specifying protection devices such as fuses and contactors and their coordination
5. Excellent electrical engineering foundations for automotive HV (ideally ~800V)
6. Hands on practical experience with HV systems on vehicles
7. Requirements Management (RM) and component specification for HV battery components / systems such as contactors, fuses, busbars, connections, DCDC, Chargers.
8. Experience designing electrical battery architecture and specifying protection devices such as fuses and contactors and their coordination
9. Knowledge of Homologation, Grade, EMC requirements & tests involved.
10. Experience diagnosing faults through electrical communications networks (CANbus)
11. BMS software calibration
12. Experience with specification of On-Board charging systems and knowledge of charging landscape
13. Experience with specification of HV DCDC’s and HV inverters and motors
14. Relevant experience of HV system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance are highly desirable
15. Good knowledge of DFMEA & DV/PV.
16. Collaboration with Suppliers & ensuring closure of activities & design requirements.
17. Extensive work experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
18. Ability to negotiate complex arrangements with service providers and Suppliers.
19. Managing projects and leading to meet targets and deadlines.
- Familiarity with the relevant industries, technical standards, and requirements.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of electric vehicle system safety along with a Quality focused approach.
- Hands on experience with CATIA V5/V6, PLM and PDM (TEAM CENTRE, VISMOCKUP).
- Knowledge of requirement management tools(DOORS, RMDV)
**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Lead and own battery commodity for assigned projects
- Lead Package investigations. Work with CAD Engineers to deliver 3D design solutions
- Collaborate with CAD engineers and systems engineers to ensure implementation of design changes during program development, prototype and production build phases according to project timeline
- Track open design issues affecting components and resolve.
- Participate in meetings with cross-functional teams.
- Creating Test case, Design Rule or requirements to carry out DV or PV test for Batteries.
- Benchmarking & Concept Development.
- Adhering to process and Gateways.
- Working on QAF, RFQ and Support Plan along with supplier/Buyer & VFM team.
- APQP meeting with suppliers.
- Design and DFMEA review.
- Comply Grade/EMC/Safety Compliance
- Support on Quality/Warranty issues (Post Launch).
- Participate at Supplier PPAP activities & Periodic audits of suppliers to improve the quality and process improvements.
- Support builds, creating supply plan for proto and production cars.
- Managing cross car line releases for carry over parts.
