Responsibilities: Project Phase
- Carry out conceptual engineering for the project and Techno-Economic Feasibility Analysis
- Technology Provider Selection and Scope Matrix and Defining guaranteed Performance Metrics
- Support to Project & functional heads for all cpacity expansion projects of Mg-Si by roviding technical insights and Facility Utility Matrix (FUM) to design

facility plant design
- Oversee the plant engineering and construction which will be directly coordinated by the Engineering Manager.
- Lead Cold Commissioning (managed by Engineering Manager with support of Process Manager) and Hot Commissioning (managed by Process Manager

with support of Engineering Manager).
- Post commissioning, Preparation of Ramp up plan to achieve guaranteed performance metrics and handover to Operation team
- Lead and manage all technical /Quality aspects of Metallurgical Grade Silicon Powder production

KEY ACTIVITIES: Project Phase
- Prepare documents for the tender process for furnaces / auxiliary equipment including:

- Design Plant Capacity Balancing.
- Preferred furnace configuration (# and size of furnaces),
- Proposed raw materials, Tentative plant layout, Detailed Scope of supply, Identify preferred equipment suppliers.
- Comprehensive Review/Evaluation of Technical parameters of Suppliers and prepare Technical Comparison with preferred equipment suppliers Together with the Process & Engineering Managers, review Conceptual Engineering with the equipment provider(s)and participate in Basic / Detailed

Engineering.
- Involvement in the resolution of any disputes arising with equipment / engineering providers.
- Responsible for Raw material Specification and raw material selection (quartz, reductants, logs/woodchips & electrodes)
- Recruit Technical Manager and maintain oversight of recruitment of Process and Engineering Staff by the respective Managers.
- Post commissioning, Manage an effective site safety management programme within the MG Silicon Department.
- Prepare raw materials for initial start up and Establish Ramp up plans for silicon production
- Liaise with Maintenance/Engineering Manager to maximise availability and on line time of plant through planned maintenance.
- Provide input for the preparation of annual budgets, set standards for performance and target dates for completion.
- Benchmarking of Process and Produciton Performance metrics and defining & Contracting with OEMMonitor performance and provide timely feedback to

subordinates.
- Initiation & drive process improvement initiatives / projects for Continuous performance improvement
- Setting up R & D targets on new and cutting-edge technology and materials development towards continuoous improvement and cost reduction in

manufacturing line.
- Conceptualization and Establish Research base for new concepts/Process in Mg-Si Technology
- Develop and maintain effective communications between individual functional groups and departments.
- Responsible for compliance with Government Regulations governing the operation of industrial plants.
- Coordinate an effective training programme within the MG Silicon Department.
- Support in Continuous improvement in Product quality to meet downstream processing requirements.

Safety/ System Responsibilities
- In Project phase, ensure that safety issues are taken into consideration during plant design including safe access and exit to working areas,

minimisation of fume / dust levels in the workplace, keeping water away from molten metal, provision of safety showers / eye wash stations in the
building etc.
- Lead in completion of HAZOP studies as per safety requirement
- Post Commissiong/Operation Phase, ensure appropriate safety training for all employees, Sufficient & suitable safety clothing provided where appropriate,

Documented safe work procedures, Regular safety audits and Investigations and follow-up action following any safety incidents or injuries.
- In Project Phase, Monitor and manage Project Expenditure promptly reporting variations from the Project Budget
- Post Commissioning, Monitor & manage Operating / Capital Expenditure in accordance with control procedures, and approved operating and capital

budgets.
- Post Commissioning, ensure to Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the product, process and quality system,

identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality systems.
- Also ensure to Verify the implementation of corrective actions/solutions and Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product

until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Ensure that plant design is such that projected emissions and impact on the environment are minimised and all regulatory standards are taken into

consideration.
- Prior to commencement of site works, undertake baseline monitoring as required.
